DeepArtifactDB

Status: Planned

DeepArtifactDB is a reference database of generative-model artifact signatures with forensic annotation.

DeepArtifactDB is an open-source forensic reference resource designed to support examiner review of generative-model artifact signatures. It does not issue final authenticity opinions. It documents technical artifact signatures that examiners may use to identify features warranting further analysis.

GitHub Repository

What It Contains

Each entry documents one artifact signature from one generation method:

Field Content
Generation Method Model architecture and version
Artifact Description Precise technical description
Tool Output Examples Annotated RK Tools outputs demonstrating the artifact
Academic Basis Peer-reviewed citations
Forensic Interpretation Evidentiary context, with known limitations
Limitations Known false positives and adversarial countermeasures

What It Produces

  • Searchable, version-controlled artifact entries
  • Methodology-documented annotations with peer-reviewed citations
  • Citable exports for reference in forensic reporting

Scope Limitation

This resource supports forensic triage and examiner-led analysis. A reference entry documents a known artifact signature; it is not, by itself, an authentication opinion. The presence of a documented artifact does not prove manipulation, and its absence does not prove authenticity.

Availability

DeepArtifactDB is planned and not yet released. Installation and usage instructions will be published here when the first release is available.

When citing the database in a forensic report, include the author, database name, the entry ID and version as listed in the database, the retrieval date, and the repository URL.
